House and Senate still moving slowly

After meeting briefly Wednesday, both the House and Senate adjourned until next Tuesday, March 9.

Committees have begun meeting, and next week marks the beginning of bill hearings in several committees. The education committees (Senate Education and House Public Education) have not yet posted their schedules, nor have the committees that address TRS issues (Senate State Affairs and House Pensions, Investments and Financial Services).

The budget committees continue their reviews of state agencies, and both Senate Finance and House Appropriations have been briefed on the budgets for TEA/school finance and TRS, but specific mark-up meetings will take place in the coming weeks.
