The Texas Classroom Teachers Association (TCTA) wishes to protect the privacy of those who visit our website. The following provides explanations of how provided information will be used by TCTA. We wish to assure visitors to our website that no personal or provided information will be sold.

TCTA maintains email addresses and other personally identifiable information provided by our members. Personally identifiable information may be collected from other persons who voluntarily submit such information to us. This information will be used to customize information and provide notification of services by email or other means. You will be provided a simple mechanism to indicate that you wish not to continue to receive such email. The information may be provided to vendors with affinity program agreements that provide services or products to TCTA members or persons eligible for TCTA membership. Such information will be provided only if you have requested that TCTA provide the information to the vendors or only upon an agreement by the vendors that they will provide a simple mechanism to indicate that you wish not to receive information from them.

Aggregate member information and other lists maintained by TCTA are confidential business information and constitute trade secrets of TCTA and/or the Texas Classroom Teachers Association Services Corporation. Any person who obtains such information from TCTA does so with an express understanding that the information is confidential and agrees to use the information only as expressly authorized by TCTA and in a manner that complies with this privacy policy.

This site is not directed to children. TCTA does not attempt to collect personally identifiable information from children. TCTA cannot always determine that a user is a child. If children do send personal information to TCTA in a manner that identifies that the information comes from a child, such as writing to request information for a school project, the information will be deleted.

This website may use cookies for the limited purpose of enabling some of the features on the site. For instance, by setting a cookie on our site, the user would not have to log in a password more than once, thereby saving time while on our site. A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user’s hard drive containing information about the user. Usage of a cookie will not be linked to any personally identifiable information while on our site. TCTA does not use banner ads on our site that will set cookies on a user’s computer from third parties while on our site. The TCTA site has links that will take users to different sites. TCTA has no control over the use of cookies by a different site.

Log Files

We may use IP addresses (the numerical address of your computer) to analyze trends, administer the site, track user’s movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.

Credit Card Transactions

When our registration/order form asks users to enter credit card information, it is encrypted and is protected with Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), which is accepted as the industry standard for encryption of confidential information. This is a protocol that is set up to prevent unauthorized people from seeing the information that is submitted.
