Effective date of coverage

Legal services, as determined appropriate by the legal staff, are available only to members regarding employment-related matters arising after the effective date of membership. Your membership and professional liability insurance coverage for the 2024-25 school year (if provided for your membership category) become effective on Aug. 1, 2024, or when your completed membership application and full payment, or a signed payroll deduction authorization and required payments, are received at TCTA headquarters, whichever is later. Membership with TCTA is subject to the terms of benefits as defined on the membership application.

Professional liability insurance

The coverage included with membership for Active, Associate and Student members is provided by a wholly owned subsidiary of Nationwide® with an A.M. Best Rating of A+XV (superior). The coverage is provided through a purchasing group, and the insurer may not be subject to all insurance laws and regulations of the state. All coverage is subject to policy terms. Policy is available to members upon request.

There are so many reasons to join TCTA: good benefits, excellent attorneys, our lobbyists are wonderful. The most important is that TCTA is your voice, and teachers need a voice now more than ever.”

At $175 a year for all of the member benefits, TCTA sounds too good to be true. However, TCTA really is that good!”

A. F.

During a stressful time for teachers across America, I had the added stress of my certificate pending. TCTA got the ball rolling. I can’t recommend TCTA highly enough, just for the peace of mind.”

S. C.

My membership is very worthwhile, even though this is my first time using the legal department. You advocate effectively for teachers to make the teaching profession more "humane." I am grateful.”

P. F.

TCTA has taught me how to be a positive advocate, not only on my campus but on the district level and on the state level.”

Grace Mueller, past TCTA state president

I am thankful for TCTA and for attorneys who really CARE and go above and beyond to help. Without TCTA, I would not have known my rights and how to handle a potentially hopeless situation.”
