Education issues among Lt. Governor's top priorities

Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick issued a statement Monday on his top priorities for the 2023 legislative session. The lowest Senate bill numbers, 1-30, are reserved for these issues.

Among the topics affecting schools are additional property relief (SB 4), parental rights including "school choice" (SB 8), teacher rights/pay raise (SB 9), 13th check for retirees (SB 10), safe schools (SB 11), and library books (SB 13).

Other than SB 1, the Senate's state budget proposal, the priority bills have not yet been filed. TCTA will provide more information on these issues as it becomes available.
