Abbott removes COVID restrictions statewide

Gov. Greg Abbott announced today that he is removing COVID-19 restrictions, including the statewide mask mandate, effective Wednesday, March 10. The new executive order provides that "Public schools may operate as provided by, and under the minimum standard health protocols found in, guidance issued by the Texas Education Agency."

TEA has called on Commissioner Mike Morath and school districts to "continue to enforce best practice recommendations from health experts and the CDC...."
