26 Texas schools earn 2021 National Blue Ribbon honors

Twenty-six Texas schools are among 325 selected as National Blue Ribbon Schools for 2021. The recognition is based on a school's overall academic performance or progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups.

“This year’s cohort of honorees demonstrates what is possible when committed educators and school leaders create vibrant, welcoming, and affirming school cultures where rich teaching and learning can flourish,” Education Secretary Miguel Cardona said in announcing the recipients.

These Texas schools were recognized as Exemplary High Performing Schools:

• Achieve Early College High School in McAllen ISD
• Christ The King Catholic School in Dallas
• Hawkins Elementary School in El Paso ISD
• Kathlyn Joy Gilliam Collegiate Academy in Dallas ISD
• Klondike High School in Lamesa (Klondike ISD)
• Lamar Elementary School in El Paso ISD
• Logos Preparatory Academy in Sugar Land
• Mittie A Pullam Elementary School in Brownsville ISD
• North Houston Early College High School in Houston ISD
• Ramona Elementary School in El Paso (Ysleta ISD)
• South Texas ISD Rising Scholars Academy in San Benito (South Texas ISD)
• South Texas Preparatory Academy in Edinburg (South Texas ISD)
• Spearman Junior High School in Spearman ISD
• Trinidad Trini Garza Early College High School At Mountain View in Dallas ISD
• Young Women's Leadership Academy in San Antonio ISD
