School finance and voucher bills scheduled for hearings in House

The House Public Education Committee posted hearing notices for two key public education bills: HB 2 (school finance) and HB 3 (school vouchers). In anticipation of a high volume of public testimony, the bills have been scheduled for two separate days each in the coming weeks. 

HB 2 is an omnibus school finance bill, changing formulas for charter school funding, the Teacher Incentive Allotment program, the basic allotment, and more. Hearings take place March 4 and March 6.

HB 3 is the House's school voucher bill, and a priority item for Gov. Greg Abbott. Hearings on HB 3 start March 11.
