Funded by the estate of the late philanthropists Charles and Phyllis Gottlieb, the TCTA Scholarship Program was established in 2010 and awarded more than $1 million in scholarships to nearly 250 students.
When establishing the scholarship criteria, Phyllis Gottlieb specified that it be educators who identify and nominate students for the scholarships, and that the students chosen be those who have the potential and desire to succeed in higher education but who would not likely have the opportunity to do so without assistance.
The TCTA Scholarship Program ended in 2019 after a change in the Gottlieb estate's management.
