Prescription Drug Discount Plan

 

 

For 2007-2008, TCTA will give a Prescription Drug Discount Card to all members at no charge.  This discount card will be inserted and mailed along with the TCTA membership card.

This is a discount card and may not be used in conjunction with any other discount cards or a co-pay prescription drug card.

You may use the card instead of your co-pay card if the prescription cost is less than the amount of your co-pay card.  Members should ask the pharmacy to let them know the amount of the prescription so that they can decide what would be cheaper.

If the member does not have a co-pay card and pays for prescriptions out of their pocket to be reimbursed by the insurance company, they may use the discount card.  The price paid with the discount will be the price submitted to the insurance company for reimbursement. 

This card may be used for any member of the family.

Discounts for acute care (short-term) medications

The neighborhood pharmacy program assures members the lowest price on prescription drugs, saving 10% to 60% on most prescriptions.

It's simple to use. The member simply presents the membership card to the pharmacist with the prescription. The pharmacist calculates the discount and the member pays the discounted price. No other forms required.

Maintenance medications

A mail order program is available so members may optimize their savings by purchasing maintenance prescriptions in 30 to 90 day supplies to treat ongoing conditions.  In calling for a price, if the quotation you are given does not beat the price you are currently paying by at least $5.00, the operator will verify the price being charged at your local pharmacy and beat it by $5.00.  This outstanding price guarantee is effective for all brand or generic drugs priced over $10.
