Bullying Part 2: Effects of bullying; school programs (1.25 CPE credit hours)
Video presentation by Dr. Dorothy Espelage, associate professor of psychology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a national expert on bullying prevention.
In this video seminar, Dr. Espelage explains the critical element in addressing school bully problems: “bystanders,” which is repeated from the bully session part 1. The video goes on to explore the following: willingness to intervene, Psychological consequences, roles of various participants/onlookers, and bully prevention programs. The resources section is the same information provided in seminar part 1.
TCTA membership IS required for participation in this seminar. To receive a certificate, participants MUST fill out the acknowledgement of completion section after taking the seminar.
Seminar participants note: Handouts are provided for this session and may be printed. They are part of Dr. Espelage’s overall presentation on bullying and not required for following/understanding either the written or video portions of this online seminar.
