Educators who are hired after Jan. 1, 2007, and who are eligible for TCTA membership can join for half the regular cost for the remainder of the 2006-07 membership year.

The second-semester dues discount offers something for everyone. Local affiliates have a great opportunity to sign up new members, while the new members get to experience the benefits of TCTA membership for a fraction of the cost. Remember, only newly hired, eligible employees can take advantage of half-price dues for the remainder of this membership year. (You may not participate if you were eligible to join TCTA at the start of the school year.)

Dues for active-level TCTA members are regularly $110 per year, but with this offer newly hired educators may join for $55. Dues for first-year Texas teachers hired after Jan. 1 are just $37.50, and associate-level members hired after that date can join for just $30. These categories include professional liability insurance (up to $7 million, with $2 million for civil rights coverage).
