Rules & Regulations
-
Nominations may be submitted to TCTA headquarters via e-mail, mail, FAX, or hand delivery.
-
Nomination forms must be electronically stamped or postmarked on or before midnight of the deadline date.
-
Each award has an official nomination form that outlines specific submission requirements, and each entry will be screened for adherence to these regulations before being submitted to the judges.
-
A nomination could be moved to a different category if it meets eligibility requirements.
-
With the exception of the Friend of Education and Silver Apple Media awards categories, submission of any award nomination form attests that a nomination is made on the basis of a CTA election or other democratic process (e.g., ballots made available to all CTA members, a vote at a publicized meeting, etc.).
-
Submissions must be made by the CTA President, or by a Member-at -Large (in areas where there is not a TCTA local affiliate).
Selection process
TCTA Awards Program judges will know the names of Friend of Education and Silver Apple nominees. In all other categories, nominee names, school districts and CTA affiliations (if any) will be eliminated to ensure a fair and impartial judging process. Friend of Education award recipients are selected by TCTA’s Legislation Committee; all other award winners are selected by the Communications/Public Relations Committee. Award winners and those who nominated winners will receive official notification prior to the association’s annual convention. TCTA award winners other than the Friend of Education receipients will be honored at the Awards Luncheon, held at the conclusion of the TCTA Annual Convention in Austin, February 7, 2009; Friend of Education winners will be recognized at the TCTA Representative Assembly on Friday, February 6.
