TCTA Member Recommendations:
In addition to the resources above and the agencies that generally provide direct disaster assistance, we have had the following recommendation from one of our members. If you have tips or resources you feel other members may benefit from knowing about, please email the information and we will include it here.
- If you are a district in need or a district that would like to help out those that have been hit hard by Ike damage, Arlington ISD has put together a way for you to connect.
- You should be aware that one of the major contributors to disaster relief is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, commonly called the Mormons. This organization takes no contributions for operations, etc., but all the funds they receive go directly to help those in need. Not only is this organization one of the first responders to disaster, they continue to assist long after most have left. You should be familiar with the Mormon Helping Hands, groups of Church members who go in and do all kinds of clean-up without pay of any kind. Contributions can be made to this organization through their Humanitarian Aide.
